Metro Vancouver BC Area ADHD Support Groups

These Vancouver BC area ADHD support groups are provided as a public service. Adult ADHD Coach Pete Quily does not endorse or recommend any specific group. But given I started and run the Vancouver Adult ADD Support Group, I endorse it:)

I also endorse The ADD Vancouver Support Group, which used to be known as CHADD Vancouver and I was on its board for 16 years and do at least one presentation a year at it.

Meeting places and time vary. Please contact the group to confirm the places and times. If there is no support group in your area, consider starting an ADHD support group, here’s how you can do it.

Since most of these groups are volunteer-run organizations, please try and help the group leaders by volunteering some of your time.

One reason ADHD support groups shut down is that the people running it get burnt out because they’re often doing most of the work themselves.

If one of these groups has changed their contact information and you want it updated please let me know. Also, if you know of any ADHD support groups in BC’s Lower Mainland that aren’t listed here that should be, please email me to let me know.

I also have a list of those known to diagnose and treat ADHD in Metro Vancouver. I’ve sent this out thousands of times since 2003.

Because many have no training at all on ADHD, and people with ADHD in BC unlike other places, so far don’t care enough about their fellow ADDers to explain why this is a problem to BC MLA’s, medical bureaucracies or the media and give them reasons why they should care about us.

If ADHD were a real problem people would complain to us about it, is the basic response when I ask politicians, media etc why they keep neglecting us and discriminating against us ADDers.

Also since most of us have not just ADHD but other mental health conditions check out my Metro Vancouver ADHD related resources.

Vancouver Adult ADD Support Group

We’re the only adult ADHD Support Group in BC. We meet the first Tuesday of the month from 6.30 to 8.30 pm. I’m the founder and leader, it was started in 2003.

This group is specifically oriented to deal with adult ADHD issues and concerns.

It is a peer support group and a forum where information about adult ADHD can be exchanged.

You can check out the notes of the past meetings that some of our members took at Adult ADHD Issues.

ADD Vancouver Support Group

Formerly known as Chadd Vancouver. Runs monthly meetings that provide education and support to families of children/youth with an ADHD diagnosis, adults with ADHD and interested professionals.

Provides continuing education on ADD and is a community resource for information about Attention Deficit Disorders.

I usually speak at at least one of their meetings annually.

Please help share the word about the only 2 ADHD support groups in BC with those with ADHD or those who might refer others who have ADHD or have ADHD children.
