Notice:

The Vancouver Adult ADD Support Group used to be affiliated with CHADD Vancouver and CHADD Canada.

The national organization of CHADD Canada has dissolved.

As a result, CHADD Vancouver Chapter has renamed itself. It is now called the ADD Vancouver Support Group.

It will continue to provide regular support and information meetings to those living with or wanting to know more about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD or ADHD) and focus on families with ADHD. This will in no way affect or change the content, presentations or type of support offered at the meetings

This is a non-profit support group with no charitable status.

The Vancouver Adult ADD Support Group that I founded in 2003 will continue on as The Vancouver Adult ADD Support Group.

Our Purpose

The non-profit Vancouver Adult ADD Support Group was started by Pete Quily who is an Adult ADHD Coach who has ADHD in 2003.

We have ADHD members from Whistler to Delta to Mission. We’re the only Adult ADHD Support Group in BC

ADHD rarely travels alone. Comorbidity, or coexisting conditions, is the norm for ADHD, not the exception. For links to those groups, please visit Vancouver, BC Area ADD Related Non-Profit Support Groups & Other Organizations

5% of the adult population has ADHD. Approximately 90% of adults with ADHD are undiagnosed and untreated. Dr. Russell Barkley, Monitor on Psychology March 2012, page 70. Untreated ADHD can lead to major negative consequences in life.

This group is specifically oriented to deal with adult ADHD issues and concerns.

It is a peer support group and a forum where information about adult ADD can be exchanged.

It’s a place where you can:

Meeting Info

The meetings will usually be a combination of focus on one topic relating to ADHD in adults and peer support.

Confidentiality is very important; so anything that’s being said during the meeting has to stay between the members. That way people will feel comfortable in sharing their true thoughts and feelings. Please join us. I’ll always post the day and topic of the next meeting on this page.

If you want to be on the mailing list of the meetings of the Vancouver Adult ADD Support Group and ADD Vancouver Support Group, (formerly CHADD Vancouver) please email me with the subject line “Add me to the ADD meeting announcements list”  and I’ll add you to the list.

Thanks

Pete

UPDATE August 18 2021.

There is no estimated time for new meetings, unlike our PHO, I believe the vast majority of epidemiologists who know that Covid Is Airborne.

So because of that plus the Delta variant, and likely new variants, and because the negligence of our public health officials and politicians doing Covid Minimal vs Covid Zero, there likely won’t be support group meeting for a least a year or two until it’s safe for participants and for me.

No online support group meetings.

Want to be on the reminder list when both ADHD Support Groups start up again?

If you want to be on the e-mail reminder list for when it is safe to meet in person again when the aerosol and droplet spread airborne pandemic is over, the meetings of the only 2 ADHD support groups in BC, the Vancouver Adult ADD Support Group and the ADD Support Vancouver Group, please email me and I’ll add you to the list.
